My Illustration Workflow: Let’s Bring Your Vision to Life!
My process seamlessly combines accuracy and creativity to produce unique visualizations tailored specifically to your goals. This personalized approach is designed to captivate your audience and ensure your project stands out. I’m thrilled to embark on this creative journey with you and would love to guide you through my process, so you know exactly what to expect at each stage.
1. Briefing: Initial Consultation
To start, I’d love to learn more about you and your project. In our initial meeting, we’ll explore your vision for the illustration, including its purpose, target audience, publishing media, and format. I’m interested in any specific styles or themes that inspire you, as well as relevant scientific reference materials that can inform my understanding of your research. We’ll also discuss your preferred timeline and budget to ensure alignment. I’ll take notes to accurately capture your ideas, and I encourage you to share any thoughts or questions during this collaborative stage.
2. Research & Concept Development: Finding Inspiration
Once we’ve finalized the details, I will begin the research and concept development phase. To effectively understand the topics we aim to communicate, please share any recommended bibliographies, reference materials, images, publications, or relevant links. I will gather inspiration and information to create initial concepts, exploring relevant styles, themes, and visual references.
3. Sketching: Bringing Ideas to Paper
Next, I will create rough sketches and drafts on our discussions to outline the composition and direction of the illustration. I’ll share these sketches for your feedback, which will help us refine them into a final line drawing. I’ll also create a color mockup to give you an idea of the palette and mood. You will also review this drawing to ensure the scientific content is accurate. This stage will explore different solutions, solidify the creative direction, and finalize the composition.
4. Illustration: The Magic Happens
The project comes to life as I apply the final colors, textures, and text to the illustration, based on the approved sketch and color mockup. I’ll add the finishing touches, including textures, shadows, and highlights. We’ll stay in touch to address any questions and ensure your review before completion, allowing for any necessary adjustments.
5. Delivery: Your Artwork Awaits!
Once everything is polished and approved, I will deliver the final illustration files in the formats you require. You’ll have everything you need to effectively showcase your new scientific artwork!
