Queralt Tolosa, PhD
Hello! I’m Queralt, a visual science communicator based in Barcelona (Spain), where I run my independent studio. I specialize in translating complex scientific concepts into engaging and accessible visual stories that help you make a difference.
My career weaves together science, art, and communication, shaped by a journey across multiple disciplines. With a background in biochemistry and a PhD in biomedicine, I bring a deep understanding of the life sciences to my work. Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for transforming complex scientific ideas into captivating stories through data visualization, design, illustration, and animation. I focus on crafting tailored communication solutions that resonate with researchers, companies, and institutions. By blending aesthetic sensibility with narrative skills, I deliver meaningful results that bridge the gap between science and its audiences. Whether through illustrations, animations, or multimedia projects, I adapt my approach to fit each project’s unique requirements, ensuring clarity and impact.
At the core of my work are creative problem-solving, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous learning. Guided by strong ethics and social awareness, I build authentic relationships with clients, while maintaining a keen understanding of diverse audience needs. This approach allows me to create communication products that not only inform but also inspire.
I strive to push the boundaries of science communication, making scientific knowledge not just more accessible, but also more engaging. My goal is to motivate and foster scientific innovation, driving meaningful change across disciplines.
